Meditative Practices

For an Immediate Sense of Calm and Well-Being
Meditation is a powerful release valve. It is a relaxation approach now being recognized and accepted around the world. Through meditation, one can release stress, anger, frustration, fear and all the other low-based energies that I so frequently speak of. A growing number of doctors and research suggests that the ancient practice of meditation can lower blood pressure and heart rate. More and more it is being proven that the primary cause of sickness and dis-ease is caused by stress and anxiety and that quiet comtemplation, prayer, reflection or simply concentrating on your breathing can create many positive results.

What is Meditation You Might Ask... and Where Did it Come From?
Meditation has been around since the beginning of time. People have always sought a inner peace and quiet, a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual relaxation...a haven to feed their soul and connect with their Inner Soul, their Inner Child. Quite simply put... meditation is just "Being." It is a state where you can go, anytime you want and simply "BE" in the present moment. Many people find that their lives are so completely programed with the demands of their jobs, family, friends or organized extra cirricular activities that they have absolutely NO TIME to just "BE." I would like to share with you a few exercises and practices that you will be able to implement into your live without putting you further in a state of stress or worry. Allow this sight to help you reach within your Inner Self and find a happy balance.

There are many practices that can be utilized to assist you in quieting the mind, so that you can heal the body, feed the soul and gain inner peace. I will only mention a few...but I will focus on the labyrinth which is a powerful tool and pracatice that I have used in my workshops. We also sell finger labyrinths in our store. They are the perfect tool to carry in your pocket or briefcase. When ever you feel overwhelmed, or unable to cope in a particular situation, simply pull out the labyrinth and let your fingers walk through it Äit is also powerful to simply put your hand on it, clear your mind and allow the Universal Force to flow through you and assist you in resolving the situation in a clear headed, calm and peaceful manner.

• Using your shower or bath time
This is a perfect time to release the stress and worry of the day. Visualize the water washing away all toxicity...all negative energy that you felt or picked up during your day. Allow the water to cleanse and remove the muck and garbage. Then allow the water to fill you with the beautiful energy of the Universal Flow. Yes, allow the waters of the Universe to heal and cleanse your mind, body, spirit and emotions. This is a powerful tool..and takes no extra time out of your life!

• Spending time in nature
Our creator gave all of us a most powerful and awesome gift. The gift of the earth. Her trees and flowers, the oceans and streams, the birds and butterflies, the sky and the stars...and the list goes on and on and on. Begin to see the earth with new eyes and ears. Hear her sounds. She is speaking to you. Allow this most beautiful resource to help you release that which no longer serves you, to fill you with love, to heal you and nurture your mind, body and spirit. And never forget this gift was given to all of us and it is FREE!

• Create your own special place
Create in your mind's eye( in your imagination) a special place, a haven where you can go anytime you want to relax your stress and anxiety and refresh yourself. Even if you work in an office, you can go to the rest room and tap into this beautiful special place. Learn to utilize the tools that you have within yourself to help you get through the stressful moment. Whether real or imaginary, create a place that will allow you to drift and center yourself so that you can think and respond to the stressful situation with wisdom and confidence.

• Take up some meaningful exercise
Whether it be walking 1-2-3 miles, taking Yoga, silent meditation or listening to soothing music, explore and discover a medium that will serve you and discipline yourself to continue the practice even when your Ego Mind keeps proding you to stop!

• Using a labyrinth as a tool of transformation
A labyrinth is a spiritual tool, arranged in geometric forms creating one pathway leading into the center, then back out again. There are many outdoor labyrinths drawn on concrete, in the sand or designed within a garden. In our workshops, we utilize and sell finger labyrinths which are portable and easy to fold and carry with you where ever you might go. The labyrinth as a sacred symbol has been used by many cultures and spiritual traditions. The Hopi Indian medicine wheel, the Jewish Cabbalah and the pre-Christian Cretan Labyrinths are examples. There are labyrinths carved into stone walls and ceilings in churches and ancient buildings in Europe and throughout the world.

Unlike a maze, you cannot get lost in a labyrinth. All you have to do is place one foot in front of the other and you will safely get to the center where you can pause, reflect, pray for a moment and then return back to the beginning again. We believe that a labyrinth is a sacred walk because it helps one to connect with their inner self, deep inside their spirit. It is a tool for transformation where one can re-connect with their emotions, feelings, intuition and find a sense of peace and quiet that we all long for as we journey through life. Therapeutically, the labyrinth can be used for problem solving, grieving, grounding, balancing, releasing stress and anxiety, healing from sickness and dis-ease, and re-awakening to your life's other words, it means change!
There are many types of labyrinths in the world; however, the two most often recognized are the Chartres Labyrinth:

We are pleased to announce the inclusion of two finger labyrinth designs to our Book and Product Store. They were created to assist in releasing stress and anxiety. For those who are not able to walk a labyrinth in their area, we can know give you the opportunity to have your very own finger labyrinth to use daily. This can help you re-discover your own inner peace in the privacy of your home, office or any place that pleases you. You can use it as often as you desire...using any finger that calls to you. Try it and discover the awesome results!

One is the Chartres Labyrinth and the other is a design inspired by Spirit entitled The Tree of Life Labyrinth. This particular labyrinth has a raised pattern and unlike most labyrinths, your finger will walk on the lines not the spaces. While the colors look faded on the screen, they are the chakra colors and this design has great energy in the heart--chest--and solar plexis area.
